Main Street PMB 220 Manteca, CA 95336 SUBJECT: ASE PROPOSAL #2000-152 INSTALLATION OF TEMPORARY POTABLE WATER TANK SYSTEMS In reference to: Frank's One Stop Service Station 2072 West Yosemite Avenue Manteca, California Dear Mr. Guinta: Aqua Science Engineers (ASE) has identified thirteen (13) properties north of the subject site that either have detectable concentrations of petroleum-hydrocarbons in their private wells, or lie between properties that have detectable concentrations of petroleum-hydrocarbons in their private wells. In an effort to resolve this situation, ASE recommends providing temporary potable water tank - systems to these residences which will replace their pumped groundwater with potable water supplied by a local hydrant owned by the City of Manteca. As you are certainly aware, ASE typically provides our USTCF- reimbursement clients with multiple alternatives and competitive bids f o r each required task of the project. Although there is an urgent need to solve this problem, ASE has explored several options that could solve the current condition of poor water quality at the affected residences. The options explored were as follows: Onto The most logical solution is to supply the affected residences with City of Manteca water. There is a water main on Airport Way north of the affected residences. However, the affected residences are in the County of San Joaquin, not currently within the city limits of Manteca. In order for City water to be supplied to these residences, each would have to be annexed into the city.
