(8) PID control loops for the liquid is disabled.
(9) All error flags are cleared (reset button).
Note:Selection of the control valve and pneumatic ball valves in the liquid and atomizing lines
is based upon the injection location.
If all starting conditions are fulfilled a "SYSTEM READY FOR OPERATION" message is displayed
on the HMI. If they are not fulfilled a fault message detailing the condition is displayed.
Normal Startup (Automatic Mode)
NOTE: The monitoring of the NOx levels is controlled by the PLC.
Liquid control valves and liquid ball valves are controlled and actuated by the PLC.
NOTE: It is not possible to manually change the control valve position or manually activate the
ball valves in this mode. All safety interlocks are active.
The spray system can be set into operation if required.
NOTE: Atomizing air must always be on before liquid is injected.
(1) Once operational readiness has been verified, start the pump and initiate the liquid
control valve FCV80V7 on the PLC.
(2) The liquid control valve FCV80V7 will open for more flow or close to restrict flow
depending on the amount of aqueous ammonia required for the reaction.
Note: A control loop in the PLC maintains this relationship and the required response
time.
(3) Verify the NOx emission by monitoring the PLC.
(4) Pressure transmitters (PIT-*P4) monitor the pressure in the air line.
Note: If the startup pressure (PTS-*P4) is reached successfully, a message indicating that
the pump started successfully is shown on the HMI. If it does not, a fault status (M6/M7)
is activated and a pump start failure message is shown on the HMI. The failing pump
cannot be restarted until the error is cleared.
(5) Upon successful pump startup, the PID controller for the liquid line flow regulation is
enabled.
Manual Mode
The liquid control valve position can be set at the HMI. The liquid control valve position via PID
can be enabled or disabled. The liquid ball valve positions can be set at the HMI.
Changing from Automatic to Manual Mode
(1) Pneumatic control valve FCV-*V1 is kept in the same position.
(2) Pneumatic ball valve FCV-*V2 for liquid is closed.
(3) PID controller for liquid is disabled.
(4) Atomizing air valve FCV-*V3 remains open.
Changing from Manual to Automatic Mode
(1) Pneumatic control valve FCV-*V1 is kept in the same position.
Page I B-3
