The final report will include a summary table of monitoring well information for the
purpose of comparison, including such data as filter pack length, total depth of well,
water elevations/dates, and chemical concentrations of concern.
4.2.1 Assessment of Groundwater Flow Direction and Gradient
The new shallow well will provide additional data to assess the shallow
groundwater flow direction and gradient. After the wells are surveyed, the
groundwater measurements will be converted to elevations. The water level
measurements in the new deep well and the clustered alluvial wells MW2 and
MW5 will provide data to assess the magnitude of any vertical flow gradients
between the shallow and deep aquifers.
4.3 Miscellaneous Activities
4.3.1 Decontamination
Adequate decontamination procedures will ensure that samples collected are
representative of actual environmental conditions at the sampling locations,
and that cross-contamination from one sample to another has not occurred.
The decontamination procedures outlined below will be observed.
All drilling equipment that could come into contact with subsurface materials
and/or groundwater will be thoroughly steam-cleaned prior to its use at each
soil or groundwater sampling location. This includes, the drill rod, drill bits,
tremie pipes, well casing, well development pipe, and any pumps used. Steam
Z:TROP-PRA 1999"524-pIdd.W vq-1524.Ld.
14
