ACTION GUIDE#11— FLOODING <br /> GENERAL INFORMATION: <br /> Flooding could take place resulting in potential damage to lines, vessels, and equipment from <br /> the force of water and debris. Employees may be harmed exiting the area during a flood. <br /> CAUTION: <br /> • Flooding can make normal routes dangerous and unsafe to travel. <br /> • Use radio or cellular phone to warn others of flood patterns and problems resulting from <br /> water damage. <br /> • Potentially dangerous leakage of gas, fuel and chemicals may occur from damaged <br /> facilities. <br /> • Be aware of electrical lines when entering flooded areas. <br /> SUGGESTED RESPONSE(s) <br /> 1. Assess situation, move to high safe refuge, and note details: location, time. <br /> 2. Notify Emergency Coordinator of flood and damage details. <br /> 3. Deny access to the facility. <br /> 4. Shutdown the facility when ordered by Police, Fire Department, Plant Manager/Team <br /> Advisor, or if necessary to prevent injury or incident. <br /> S. Leave area when ordered to by Public Safety Officer. <br /> 6. Maintain contact with responding agencies and LAWFT Corporate Management. <br /> 7. Rescue or evacuate threatened persons. <br /> 8. Check hazardous materials storage, pressure vessels, lines and pipes, for leaks or <br /> damage from force of water and debris. <br /> 9. Return facility operations back to normal working conditions only after the Emergency <br /> Coordinator has given clearance. <br /> 10. Return to facility only after being given an all clear by Public Safety Officer. <br />
