28 October 2020 AdvancedGeo
Project No. 20-6092 An Employee-Owned Compony
Page 5 of 20
The petroleum storage for service and repair activities are located within covered areas
within the building at the southeast corner of the shop area. This area contains two 1,000-
gallon UL listed double walled ASTs which store new and used motor oil and one 120-
gallon double walled UL listed new oil tank. Additionally, this area stores six (6) 55-gallon
drums with used oil filters and two (2) 55-gallon drums with new oil. All of the 55-gallon
drums are placed on spill pallets that are used as secondary containments in case of a
spill. The shop maintenance area has a spill kit containing absorbent materials and tools
to be deployed in the event of a spill.
The remainder of the facility is used for driveways and for truck parking. The ground
surface is paved with asphaltic concrete throughout the property, except for a section of
the property on the southeast which is used as a stormwater detention basin. The
stormwater detention basin is rectangular in shape and is located at the southeast of the
property which is the direction of the natural slope of the property. Employee and visitor
vehicles are parked along the north perimeter of the site. Facility structures and operating
areas are shown on the Site Plan (Figure 2). The location of petroleum storage areas, the
6,000-gallon ASTs, spill clean-up equipment and fire extinguishers are also shown as
required under 40 CFR 112.7(a)(3).
3.5.3. Distance to Navigable Waters and Adjoining Shorelines and Flow Paths
The Facility is situated within the Great Valley Geomorphic Province of California, an
elongate, northwest trending structural trough running 400 miles through Central
California. The Great Valley is bound to the north by the Klamath Mountains, the south
by the Tehachapi Mountains, the east by the Sierra Nevada Mountains, and the west by
the Coast Ranges.
The Facility is located on relatively level terrain. Stormwater drains from the property via
surface sheet flow to the southeast direction towards the dry detention basin which is
rectangular in shape on the southeast perimeter of the Site. The city storm drain system
is directed the San Joaquin River approximately two and one quarter miles southwest of
the Facility.
3.5.4. Discharge History
The Facility has not had any known discharges since the installation of the ASTs. If a
discharge were to occur, it would be recorded within Table 4.
3.5.5. Material Stored at this Facility — 112.7(a)(3)(i)
Oil storage at the Facility ranges from a 6,000-gallon diesel fuel AST to 55- gallon drums
containing petroleum products. The type of storage containers, capacity and contents are
summarized in the table below and included in Table 3. Petroleum products are stored
