AND CAUSE HARM • Keep away from overhead fixtures, windows, fling cabinets, and electrical power. • Assist people with disabilities in finding a safe place. If outdoors, stay in open areas, away from buildings and structures, and a safe distance from utility wires. * After tremors have stopped, gather valuables, if doing so will not jeopardize the personal health and safety of yourself and others, and quickly leave the building through the evacuation roures outlined in this Plan (Appendix A). DO NOT USE ELEVATORS. • If you are in a vehicle immediately stop on a shoulder or curb that is not under an overpass, electrical wires, or poles. Stay in vehicle After the earthquake - Coordinate First Aid efforts - Turn on radio to get local information from authorities - Check natural gas lines for leaks. If leak is detected shut dawn system and notify gas company or authorities- Shut off electrical main if power is disrupted Direct employees to a safe assembly area away from the building Take a head count and verify all employees were safely evacuated Do not allow employees to re-enter the building until authorities have cleared it Contact Regional Vice President or Director of Risk Management Flood: If indoors: • Be ready to evacuate as directed by the Emergency Coordinator andfor the designated official. • Follow the recommended primary or secondary evacuation routes. If outdoors- Climb to high ground and stay there. Avoid walking or driving through flood water. • If car stalls, abandon it immediately and climb to a higher ground. 17
