AND CAUSE HARM <br /> • Keep away from overhead fixtures, windows, fling cabinets, and electrical power. <br /> • Assist people with disabilities in finding a safe place. <br /> If outdoors, stay in open areas, away from buildings and structures, and a safe <br /> distance from utility wires. <br /> * After tremors have stopped, gather valuables, if doing so will not jeopardize the <br /> personal health and safety of yourself and others, and quickly leave the building <br /> through the evacuation roures outlined in this Plan (Appendix A). DO NOT USE <br /> ELEVATORS. <br /> • If you are in a vehicle immediately stop on a shoulder or curb that is not under an <br /> overpass, electrical wires, or poles. <br /> Stay in vehicle <br /> After the earthquake <br /> - Coordinate First Aid efforts <br /> - Turn on radio to get local information from authorities <br /> - Check natural gas lines for leaks. If leak is detected shut dawn system and notify <br /> gas company or authorities- <br /> Shut off electrical main if power is disrupted <br /> Direct employees to a safe assembly area away from the building <br /> Take a head count and verify all employees were safely evacuated <br /> Do not allow employees to re-enter the building until authorities have cleared it <br /> Contact Regional Vice President or Director of Risk Management <br /> Flood: <br /> If indoors: <br /> • Be ready to evacuate as directed by the Emergency Coordinator andfor the <br /> designated official. <br /> • Follow the recommended primary or secondary evacuation routes. <br /> If outdoors- <br /> Climb to high ground and stay there. <br /> Avoid walking or driving through flood water. <br /> • If car stalls, abandon it immediately and climb to a higher ground. <br /> 17 <br />
