Awareness on the Road <br /> Nearly 50% of the individuals on the road have received at least one moving violation. <br /> Over a nullion people were injured in alcohol related accidents Iast year. <br /> Nearly 42,000 people were killed last year in automobile accidents. <br /> An estimated 10% of the drivers on the road do not have a valid license. <br /> ' Liability passes fi•om employee to employer affecting both. <br /> The Department of Motor Vehicles provides a record of all moving violations and driving related <br /> offenses committed for the past seven years in California. They also provide personal data such as <br /> full name,date of birth,address at the time the license was issued or renewed,date of issue and the <br /> date of expiration,physical description, type of license,previous license number and restrictions on <br /> use. California will indicate whether another Iicense was surrendered at the time of application. <br /> California records any infraction involving drugs or alcohol, as a permanent item in a driver's <br /> motor vehicle record. <br /> II. Negligent Operator Violation Point Count According to the California Department of <br /> Motor Vehicles <br /> Once you are licensed to drive in California it is important that you continue to follow all the laws ' <br /> and practice safe driving habits. If you start accumulating tickets for moving violations,which <br /> count as one or two points,you may be considered a negligent operator and may lose your privilege <br /> to drive, k. <br /> Most driving offenses,such as hit and run,reckless driving,and driving under the influence,are <br /> designated as 2 points and will remain on your record for seven years from the violation date.Most <br /> other offenses are designated as 1 point and will remain on your record for three years from the C <br /> violation date. Any "at fault" accident is normally counted as one point. <br /> i <br /> You will be considered a negligent operator if your driving record shows any of the following point j <br /> count totals: <br /> ® 4 points in 12 months,or <br /> O 6 points in 24 months,or <br /> ® S points in 36 months <br /> i <br /> Per Imperial Western Products,Inc. Company Driving Policy,the employee can be restricted on <br /> driving privileges if there is an accrual of: <br /> ® 2 points in 12 months,or <br /> 9 3 points in 24 months,or <br /> ® 4 points in 36 months,or <br /> ® Any driving done on company business within your own or company owned vehicle <br /> whereas the employee was found to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol,or <br />
