4
California Waste Removal Systems, Inc.
17546 General (Equipment)
Observations made during the inspection indicated that the operator
had provided sufficient equipment of the type and capacity necessary
to meet all applicable State Minimum Standards .
17547 Standby Equipment
The operator maintains and repairs equipment on site. Rental
equipment is available in the Stockton area if needed.
17548 Transfer Vehicles
All transfer vehicles observed on the day of the inspection were
covered and constructed of durable and easily cleaned materials.
17549 Inspection of Equipment
Station equipment was available for inspection.
17550 Housekeeping
Housekeeping was not observed to be a problem. The equipment
maintenance area and shop building (behind the "buy-back" center )
were screened from public view. I did not observe the accumulation
of fuel drums, parts, scrap, or inoperable equipment .
17556 General (Maintenance)
Observations made during the inspection indicated that the operator
had instituted an adequate preventative maintenance program for
station equipment and facilities . The shop area was clean,
organized, and well maintained. It is apparent that the operator
takes pride in site operations.
17557 Station Maintenance Program
No deteriorated or defective conditions were observed at the station
during the inspection. I observed the repair and painting of storage
containers taking place just north of the maintenance building .
17561 Burning Waste
I did not observe any burning wastes during this inspection.
17562 Hazardous Wastes
No hazardous waste is accepted at this site. The station has a
hazardous waste screening program.
(Notes Used motor oil is accepted from the public in quantities of
fewer than 5 gallons in the station ' s recycling area. )
17563 Infectious Wastes
The site does not accept infectious waste. I observed several red
garbage bags of autoclaved medical waste on the tipping floor . Mr .
Sanchez told me that the station used to accept infectious waste but
now requires a11 such waste be autoclaved first .
Waste Management Specialist
