DKD Property ManagementCompany Personnel @ Management Policies <br /> OPERATIONAL PROCEDURES MANUAL Section 630. <br /> Part Page 4of9 <br /> The Chemical Inventory will be audited annually by the Regional Property Manager or <br /> Compliance Specialist to ensure that all chemical products in stock at the apartment community <br /> have been approved for use and listed 0nthe Chemical Inventory SDS Index. <br /> Chemical Labels <br /> Chemical manufacturers and importers must provide alabel that includes: <br /> 1. The name, address and telephone number of the ch8rniC8l mGnufmCturwr, importer or other <br /> responsible party. <br /> 2. A Product Identifier — the chemical name' code number or batch number. The same <br /> identifier must be used on the |obH| and in section 1 of the SDS. <br /> 3. A Signal Word — used to indicate the relative severity of the hazard —there are only 2 vvonda <br /> used as signal vv0ndG. "Danger" and "Warning". ^OanQ8/' is used for the more severe <br /> hazards and ^VVorning"for the less severe hazards. <br /> 4. Hazard GtGternentS — used to describe the nature of the hazards of oherniCa|, including, <br /> where appropriate, the degree Ofhazard. <br /> 5. Precautionary Statements — used to describe recommended measures that should be taken <br /> to minimize or prevent adverse effects resulting from exposure to the hazardous chemical or <br /> improper storage or handling. <br /> 6. Supplementary Information — may include additional instructions or information that may be <br /> helpful, such as the PPE pictogram indicating what workers handling the chemical may need <br /> to wear to protect themselves. <br /> 7. Pictograms- a symbol plus other graphic elements, such as a border, background pattern or <br /> color that is meant to convey specific information about the hazards of chemical. Each <br /> piotogramn specified in the revised Hazard Communication Standard consists of different <br /> symbol on a white background with a red square frame set on a point (red diamond shape). <br /> There are Q pictograms under GHS but only 8 are required under the Hazard <br /> Communication Standard. <br /> If chemical products purchased in very large containers are placed in smaller containers for <br /> ease of use, a label must be printed from the MSDS Online website and placed securely on the <br /> smaller container. For properties that do not have color printers, picture stickers of PPE may be <br /> adhered to plain adhesive-backed blank labels (or names of PPE printed on the labels) to <br /> identify the required PPE for the product. <br /> Labels will be affixed to shelving in chemical product storage areas for organizational and aof8tv <br /> purposes. <br /> PPE <br /> Employees will be provided with the necessary PPE aospecified within the approved SDS and <br /> must take appropriate protective measures by wearing the PPE when working with the chemical <br /> product. Employees who either refuse orneglect tO vv8or the required PPE are in violation of <br /> the Standards of Conduct policy within this manual. <br /> Supervisors will assure that: <br /> 1. The appropriate PPE is available LOemployees using the chemical product; <br /> 2. The PPE i8ingood repair; and, <br /> 3.
