Disconnect electrical appliances before flooding begins ifpossible— but not while standing <br /> in water. <br /> -Related Policies <br /> "Crime Prevention" and "Workplace Violence Preventimn" are addressed in the Workplace <br /> Security and Violence Prevention policy within this manual. <br /> The Heat Illness Prevention Plan policy within this manual addresses how employees may <br /> prevent Heat Illness, acommon result ofgHeat Wave. <br /> -General Response —Apartment Communities <br /> In a life-threatening ernergencY/dioaster, as in the CaS8 of a fire, evacuation of the affected <br /> areas within the Apartment Community may bethe first step inresponse; otherwise the situation <br /> should befully assessed first. The Team will assist the disabled, elderly and unsupervised <br /> children in evacuation and return to their apartment or suite, when applicable. <br /> Notification <br /> The Team Leaders will be responsible for inn)edia8a/v reporting the occurrence of the <br /> emergency/disaster to the Director of Property Management. All details of the <br /> emergency/disaster must berecorded inwriting onan Incident Report. <br /> Upon notification, the Director of Property Management will promptly contact the Vice President, <br /> COO, who will contact the insurance agent when applicable. <br /> Long-Term Evacuation <br /> The final decision concerning long-term evacuation of the Apartment Community will be made <br /> jointly by the Vice President' C(][) and Director ofProperty Management and in consultation <br /> with the insurance adjuster. <br /> If the decision to evacuate has been rnode. the Emergency Response Team will quickly and <br /> systematically notify each resident in their apartment and/or each tenant in their suite <br /> personally. Residents who are not present will be notified via telephone through awork and/or <br /> emergency contact number. <br /> If the circumstances of the emergencV/diaoatervv8rront. management will provide residents of <br /> the Apartment Community assistance in locating services and/or temporary housing available to <br /> them. <br /> Restoration <br /> |nnrn8diute hazards, (open holes, sharp protrusions, etc.) will be eliminated or covered and <br /> posted immediately. <br /> DKDOPM | 0501/2018 <br />
