Project Consistency with SJCOG’s 2018 RTP/SCS Policies and Supportive Strategies <br />2018 RTP/SCS Supportive Strategies <br />Strategy <br />Number Project Consistency <br />Improve air quality by reducing <br />transportation-related emissions <br />#3 Consistent. The Project would result in criteria air <br />pollutant and GHG emissions as a result of operation- <br />generated mobile emissions. However, as implemented <br />by PDF-AQ-GHG-3 through PDF-AQ/GHG-5, the Project <br />would install conduit for future electric truck charging <br />capabilities, install conduit for 33 future EV charging <br />stations, and designate 21 parking spaces for clean <br />air/EV/vanpool parking to encourage use of alternative <br />forms of transportation. Furthermore, the Project would <br />provide a regional hub for goods movement, connecting <br />with the arterial goods distribution system. <br />Policy: Maximize Mobility and Accessibility <br />Improve regional transportation system <br />efficiency <br />#4 No conflict. The Project would not prevent SJCOG from <br />implementing this strategy. <br />Optimize public transportation system <br />to provide efficient and convenient <br />access for users at all income levels <br />#5 No conflict. The Project would not prevent SJCOG from <br />implementing this strategy. <br />Facilitate transit-oriented development <br />to maximize existing transit investments <br />#6 No conflict. The Project would not prevent SJCOG from <br />implementing this strategy. <br />Provide transportation improvements to <br />facilitate non-motorized travel, including <br />incorporation of complete streets <br />elements as appropriate <br />#7 No conflict. The Project would not prevent SJCOG from <br />implementing this strategy. <br />Improve major transportation corridors <br />to minimize impacts on rural roads <br />#8 No conflict. The Project would not prevent SJCOG from <br />implementing this strategy. <br />Policy: Increase Safety and Security <br />Facilitate projects that reduce the <br />number of and severity of traffic <br />incidents <br />#9 No conflict. The Project would not prevent SJCOG from <br />implementing this strategy. <br />Encourage and support projects that <br />increase safety and security <br />#10 No conflict. The Project would not prevent SJCOG from <br />implementing this strategy. <br />Improve communication and <br />coordination between agencies and the <br />public for emergency preparedness and <br />support local and state efforts for <br />transportation network resiliency, <br />reliability, and climate adaptation <br />#11 No conflict. The Project would not prevent SJCOG from <br />implementing this strategy. <br />Policy: Preserve the Efficiency of the Existing Transportation System <br />Optimize existing transportation system <br />capacity through available and/or <br />innovative strategies <br />#12 No conflict. The Project would not prevent SJCOG from <br />implementing this strategy. <br />Support the continued maintenance <br />and preservation of the existing <br />transportation system <br />#13 No conflict.
