R
CLIMATE CONDITIONS
Climate
San Joaquin County is characterized by hot dry summers and cool moist winters. There is
a high pressure area offshore that reduces the weather systems from entering this area
during the summer months. In the winter months the high pressure shifts southward
whereby allowing weather systems to enter this area producing moist cool weather and
frequent heavy fogs. The average annual precipitation consists of approximately 17 inches
per year, and usually occurs from the months of October through May. The cool moist
Pacific winds enter the county through the Carquinez Straight gap.
Wind Velocity and Direction
Historical wind data indicates prevailing wind is from the northwest at approximately 8
miles per hour. High winds occur infrequently and are usually associated with the passage
of winter storm systems out of the Pacific Ocean.
MONITERING PROTOCOL
There are approximately 4 people employed by the S.K.S.,French Camp Poultry Facility,
as well as 1 residence on-site.
