n
Installation Guide: Commercial AdvanTW Systems
j
step= rrsfae Rirs ,
It is assumed for this step that you are installing into a fiber-
glass tank or a concrete tank with tank adapters cast in. If
eev3 .
., . adapters have not been installed, see Access Riser Instructions
(NIN-PLA-PR-I).*
Step 5a: Orient risers with grommeted holes in the directions
shown on your engineering plans. For any risers that will have
electrical conduits running to them to orient electrical
MA320 adhesive g }'
grommeted holes to minimize the number of bends. (National
a: Electrical Code limits the sum of all bends in a nun to 360 degrees.)
NOTE: If you need to install a grommet, see the Appendix, on
page 12, before proceeding.
Step 5b: Wipe the areas to be bonded with a clean rag to
;? ensure a clean, dry bonding surface that is free of debris.
Step 5e: There are several methods of applying adhesive to
the outside and inside of the riser tank adapter. You can use
ADI-1100 or MA320 alone. However,because ADH100 does
not provide a structural joint for approximately 24 hours and
aA f may therefore delay installation and backfilling, you may want
a, to use both adhesives. If so, apply MA320 to the outside sur-
M.
;. face of the riser tank adapter fora quick(usually an hour or
less)structural joint.
t .
Step 5d: Carefully slide the riser onto the adapter. Orient the
riser correctly before the adhesive starts to set.
' ADN10D adhesive
Step 5e: If you are using both types of adhesive, apply a
bead ofADH100 adhesive to the inside of the adapter and riser
joint. Use a putty knife or similar tool to form a continuous
fillet between the tank adapter and the inside of the riser.
Step 5f: After the adhesives have hardened, fill the tank with
clean water to a level 1" above the adhesive joint in the riser,to
test the watertightness of the tank and the riser joint. Do not
allow the water level to rise more than 3" into the riser because
structural damage to the tank may occur. The inlet pipe into the
tank needs to be"turned up"to allow the tank to be filled.
CAUTION: Check the tank manufacturer's guidelines before
filling the tanks. Some tank manufacturers require a partial or
complete backfill before a tank is filled.
* You can find this document on Orenco's online Document Library at www.orenco.com.
®2003 Orenco Systems*Inc.
