Impact Discussion:
a- b) The General Plan Map Amendment and Zone Reclassification applications will have no impact on energy resources
nor will it conflict with a state or local plan. No commercial development is proposed with this application. Any
subsequent commercial development of the project site will be subject to the California Energy Code (also titled The
Energy Efficiency Standards for Residential and Non-residential Buildings) The California Energy Code was created by
the California Building Standards Commission in response to a legislative mandate to reduce California's energy
consumption. The code's purpose is to advance the state's energy policy, develop renewable energy sources and
prepare for energy emergencies. The code includes energy conservation standards applicable to most buildings
throughout California. These California Energy Code requirements will be applicable to any subsequent commercial
development at the project site ensuring that any impact to the environment due to wasteful, inefficient, or unnecessary
consumption of energy will be less than significant and preventing any conflict with state or local plans for energy
efficiency and renewable energy.
PA -2100019 and PA -2100020 — Initial Study
12
Planning Commission Staff Report, PA -2100019, 20 (GP, ZR) 16
Environmental Review
Potentially
Less Than
Significant with
Less Than
Analyzed
Significant
9
Mitigation
Significant
9
No
In The
Impact
Incorporated
Impact
Impact Prior EIR
VI.
