2020, the western barn, western stable, shop building with living space, and brick
building had been demolished.
On the south side of the western stable, several pieces of old concrete pipe and
a metal pipe were observed in April. In August, the concrete pipe could still be
seen, as well as large piles of tree trimmings; the metal pipe was not observed.
Visible through the open door of the old shop with living space, Live Oak
observed two very old drums that appeared to be empty, a small rusty container,
and a slight discoloration in one part of the dirt floor. The other end of the
building appeared to be an extremely old living space that had been unoccupied
for many years. In August, the entire building had been demolished and the soil
throughout the area had been tilled.
Many of the barns appeared to use pipes protruding from the ground as
doorstops. A pipe in a concrete base was observed near the former location of
the western barn in August; this may have been a doorstop for the former barn.
In April, eight apparently empty drums were observed inside the eastern stable.
In August, the drums had been removed, and it was possible to see that the
stable had a concrete and brick floor, though partially deteriorated. Slight
discoloration of the floor was apparent in two locations.
The house and garage appeared to be in good condition; Mr. Chiu is working on
renovating the house. The domestic well was observed near the southeast
corner of the garage.
Old concrete pipe was observed in several places, both in place in the ground
and in piles. The largest pile was observed south of the building cluster along
the southern property line. A brush pile with some concrete pipe present was
observed at the southeast corner of the Site. A pile of bricks was observed in
April to the west of the small brick building, suggesting that a building had been
demolished.
Signs indicating the presence of an underground gas pipeline were noted along
the western property line (Roberts Road). Seven pole-mounted transformers
were observed on the property; most of the transformers were labeled with blue
stickers indicating that they are free of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs).
To the west of the Site was Roberts Road, followed by orchard. An agricultural
equipment storage yard (7569 Roberts Road) was observed to the west of the
northwest corner of the Site. To the south of the Site was another orchard. To
the north of the Site was an alfalfa field. To the east was the San Joaquin River,
followed by agricultural land.
LOGE 20-16 4
