alkyphenol, alkyl propane diamine diacetate, quaternary ammonium
compounds, and isopropanol are maintained at this facility.
No evidence was encountered to indicate contamination affecting the Site as a
result of operations at these adjacent properties.
Live Oak reviewed the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department's
maps of Nitrate - Land Use Data and DBCP- Land Use Data dated February 20,
2019. According to the maps, no wells in the immediate vicinity of the Site have
been tested for either constituent. The closest wells are approximately two
miles from the Site. As the nitrate map shows (Plate 5), five wells within two
miles of the Site were tested for nitrate; nitrate was detected in four of the wells
at a concentration between 0.1 and 5.0 mg/L-N; no nitrate was detected in the
remaining well. As depicted on the DBCP map (Plate 6), four wells within two
miles of the Site were tested; no DBCP was detected in any of the wells. The
Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) set by the US EPA for nitrate is 10 mg/L-N;
the MCL for DBCP is 0.2 [g/L.
7.3 Agricultural Commissioner's Records
Live Oak contacted the San Joaquin County Agricultural Commissioner's Office
regarding agricultural use of the site. According to Hiromi Hernandez of that
office, the Site has been used to grow corn, alfalfa, dried beans, safflower, and
wheat during the past five years. A variety of agricultural chemicals have been
applied to the Site during that time, as indicated on the attached documents in
Appendix 5. A violation was issued in 2019 for issues related to labeling
personal protective equipment (correspondence, April 27, 2020).
7.4 Department of Oil, Gas, and Geothermal Resources Maps
The California Department of Oil, Gas, and Geothermal Resources (DOGGR)
Well Finder website was queried on April 10, 2020 for mapped oil or gas wells
within one-quarter mile of the subject Site. According to DOGGR, the southern
portion of the Site is located within the Lathrop gas field (Plate 7). One gas well
was identified on the Site, a plugged well identified as the Chevron USA Inc.'s
"Saunders" 1 (API 0407700034). The well was drilled and abandoned in 1963;
pertinent records are attached in Appendix 6. Although the modern map depicts
the well south of the Site, based on the records reviewed the well appears to be
located on the south side of the Site.
Three additional gas wells were identified within approximately one-quarter mile
of the Site:
• Occidental Petroleum Corporation "P.G. Ohm" 1, a plugged, dry hole,
located approximately one-quarter mile west of the Site.
LOGE 20-16 8
