7.0 GOVERNMENT AGENCY RESEARCH
7.1 EPA Databases
The California Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) manages contaminated
sites through two sub-agencies: the State Water Resources Control Board
(SWRCB) and the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC). The
SWRCB's GeoTracker database includes underground storage tank (UST) sites,
leaking underground storage tank (LUST) sites, cleanup program sites, and land
disposal sites. The database can be searched by reviewing two lists, the
Permitted Underground Storage Tank (UST) Sites list and the Cleanup Sites list.
DTSC's EnviroStor database includes Federal Superfund sites, State response
sites, voluntary cleanup sites, school cleanup sites, corrective action sites, and
permitted hazardous waste facilities.
Live Oak searched both databases on November 16, 2020 for any listed sites
within one-quarter mile of the Site. The subject Site was not listed on either
database, and no listed facilities were identified within one-quarter mile.
7.2 Environmental Health Department Databases
Live Oak reviewed the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department's
Cleanup, Hazardous Materials, Hazardous Waste Generators, Underground
Storage Tanks, Aboveground Storage Tanks, and Complaints databases, dated
July 2020, for facilities of concern within one-quarter mile of the Site. The Site
was not listed on any of the databases searched. Four facilities within one-
quarter mile were identified:
• Escalon Livestock Market, 25525 E. Lone Tree, adjacent to the west,
Hazardous Materials list. Live Oak reviewed records for this facility on file
at the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department. According
to these records, 350 gallons of diesel are stored at this facility.
Inspections reports from 2011, 2014, and 2020 noted recordkeeping
violations. No evidence was identified to suggest that this facility has
impacted the subject Site.
• Lone Tree Drying & Storage/Fred A. Paulus, 25744 E. Lone Tree,
adjacent to southwest, Hazardous Materials and Underground Storage
Tanks lists. Live Oak reviewed records for this facility on file at the San
Joaquin County Environmental Health Department. According to these
records, this facility had a 1,100- to 5,000-gallon underground storage
tank, which was removed in 1988. The facility was required to submit
hazardous materials paperwork in 2007; no further information was
available. No evidence was identified to suggest that this facility has
impacted the subject Site.
LOGE 20-53 5
