California Hazardous Waste Disposal Guidelines <br />Job Aid <br />_ J. h., <br />M terlee <br />_, <br />%Hazardous / al=Dls osal <br />Always consider the following options before disposal of <br />Hazardous Material. <br />• Sell to a Professional Customer at full or <br />discounted price (EX: If the item has a torn label). <br />• Use the item in the store. (example: Portland or Phoenix) <br />Accumulation Start Date: First <br />day an item is put <br />in the box <br />Hazardous Waste Box <br />A plastic box with a locking lid must be used to contain all non -aerosol hazardous waste. <br />• Hazardous waste includes: <br />o Used oil absorbent - Place used absorbent in a gallon sized zipper bag and store <br />it in the hazardous <br />waste box for proper disposal. <br />o All products that contain a cautionary/warning label such as oil, fuel additives, car <br />washes, waxes and air <br />fresheners. <br />Note: DO NOT place items intended for donation or sale to Professional Customers in the hazardous waste box. <br />1.. <br />Contact Environmental Affairs to order a plastic locking lid tote and Universal Hazardous Waste labels. <br />Z <br />Place each bottle, can, or item is in its own separate, completely <br />��Ile <br />�.� <br />le <br />eeee�`�' <br />closed and secured zippered bag to prevent mixing liquids. <br />• Add some absorbent inside the zippered bag if the item shows <br />signs of leaking. <br />• DO NOT use a cardboard box to absorb or contain any liquids, <br />This will be flagged as a violation by the inspector. <br />3. <br />Place the bagged items in the hazardous waste box. <br />Last updated: October 11, 2019 <br />®PiUTOPRRT I WORLDPAC'�.y'��.
