The vault is of concrete <br />construction with a metal grate on top. There are isolation valves to prevent <br />discharge to the POTW as required. Solid waste from the vault is removed and <br />disposed on a regular basis by a waste disposal contractor. The previous contractor <br />is no longer in business. Foss Environmental will perform the service in the future. <br />The waste is transported to Altamont Landfill. <br />A private contractor is hired to clean tanks and remove wastes generated from <br />cleaning. <br />Discharge of wastewater to the POTW not regulated. According to Mr. Dale <br />Matthews, the City of Stockton determined that United Storage is an "insignificant <br />user" and discharge water does not require testing. <br />, <br />Waste Management General solid waste is collected by Waste Management, Inc. <br />Waste boiler water treatment chemical containers are collected by the contractor <br />responsible for treatment. <br />None <br />Storage of Materials and Waste See tank inventory above. <br />Boiler water treatment chemicals are stored in small quantities in the new boiler <br />house on a concrete floor. <br />General waste is stored in a metal bin near the office. <br />None <br />Environmental Management A Hazardous Materials Management Plan is on file with San Joaquin County. The <br />plan includes the following: <br />- List of chemicals onsite and approximate daily usage; <br />- Terminal spillage response procedure; <br />- List of authorized clean-up companies. <br />None <br />Deleterious Materials Potential asbestos containing materials were observed on the piping of the older, <br />unused boiler. An asbestos survey has not been performed. The operations <br />manager is in the process of securing an asbestos survey and abatement company <br />to address the issue. <br />Transformers appeared in good working condition. No leaks or staining were <br />observed in the vicinity of the transformers.
