Work Plan for Environmental Investigation June 21, 1989 <br /> Waterfront Redevelopment, Stockton, California AGS 39048-1W <br /> PROPOSED WORK <br /> The proposed investigation is designed to explore whether soil <br /> and ground-water hydrocarbon contamination exists beneath the <br /> City of Stockton's Waterfront Redevelopment property. The <br /> following tasks are proposed and discussed in the following <br /> sections: <br /> o Acquire permits from the San Joaquin Local Health <br /> District to conduct a soil vapor-survey, drill three <br /> soil borings, and construct monitoring wells in the <br /> borings. <br /> o Perform a soil-vapor survey of the site. <br /> o Interpret the soil-vapor survey results and use these <br /> results to assist in locating the proposed soil borings <br /> and monitoring wells. <br /> o Drill three soil borings at the approximate locations <br /> shown on the Generalized Site Plan, subject to review <br /> based on data from the soil-vapor survey. <br /> o Collect and classify relatively undisturbed soil <br /> samples at 5-foot intervals or observed soil changes to <br /> the termination of soil borings. The soil borings will <br /> be terminated approximately 15 feet below the ground- <br /> water surface, or if a 5-foot-thick low permeability <br /> zone is encountered below the ground-water surface. <br /> o Construct 2-inch-inner-diameter ground-water monitoring <br /> wells in the borings. <br /> o Develop and purge the wells and collect ground-water <br /> samples. <br /> o Analyze selected soil and ground-water samples for <br /> hydrocarbons in a laboratory certified by the State of <br /> California. <br /> 6 <br /> A10PA90' GeoSYSAMS <br />
