Selected soil samples will include the sample <br /> above the ground-water capillary fringe, and the sample with the <br /> highest OVM readings or with subjective evidence of hydrocarbon <br /> contamination. The soil samples selected for testing will be <br /> analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) as gasoline and <br /> diesel using modified Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) <br /> Method 8015 with extraction by EPA Method 5030, benzene, toluene, <br /> ethylbenzene, and total xylene isomers using EPA Method 8020 . In <br /> addition, soil samples collected from the former UNOCAL and <br /> Morton Paint properties will be analyzed for volatile organics <br /> using EPA Method 8240 by a purge and trap, packed column Gas <br /> Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer technique which monitors a mass <br /> range of 35-260 as the EPA Contr aboratory Program <br /> recommends. <br /> L-tOne water sample will be -pollected—fTom—each monitoring w <br /> analysis.
