It is anticipated that the field investigation can commence
approximately four weeks following regulatory approval of the Site Investigation Work
Plan, depending upon availability and scheduling of the selected driller.
The field investigation will take up to 5 to 6 days to complete. Samples will be submitted
to the selected analytical laboratory for the specified analyses on a daily basis. It will
typically take approximately 2 to 3 weeks to complete the laboratory analyses. Upon
receipt of the finalized laboratory reports, the data will be reviewed, validated, and
uploaded into the site database.
Phase III
The records research associated with Task 5 (Tidal Influence Study)will proceed
simultaneously with Phase I. Installation of the water level recoding devices in the
monitoring wells will occur immediately following the initial sampling of the monitoring
wells. The initial Tidal Study will be conducted for a period of 7 days. Based on the
results of the 7-day water level fluctuation additional water level monitoring periods may
be required.
Phase'
Based on the results of the Tidal Study, the 4 off-Site reconnaissance borings will be
advance to collect background soil and groundwater samples. This Phase will commence
with pre-field activities (permitting, verifying and marking boring locations, and clearing
proposed boring locations for utilities and underground obstructions),which may take up
to two weeks to complete.
The field investigation will take up to 1 to 2 days to complete.
