Manifest number 012473143JJK <br />(3/19/14) was found without a signed off copy from the destination <br />facility. Hazardous waste generators shall retain copies of all <br />manifests signed off by the destination facility on site for three <br />years and have them readily available for review. If the generator did <br />not receive a copy of the manifest with the handwritten signature of <br />the owner or operator of the facility to which the generatorG s waste <br />was submitted within 60 days of the date the waste was accepted by the <br />initial transporter, the generator shall submit a legible copy of the <br />missing manifest, with some indication that the generator has not <br />received confirmation of delivery. Metal fines generated from metal <br />cutting and grinding are being recycled as scrap metal without first <br />determining particle size or hazardous properties. Any person who <br />generates a waste shall determine if the waste is a hazardous waste. <br />Immediately stop recycling metal fines, make a hazardous waste <br />determination for the cutting and grinding waste, and manage it <br />according to Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Particles 100 <br />microns or smaller must be handled as hazardous waste if the metal is <br />determined to be a hazardous waste. Submit a statement and supporting <br />documentation explaining how this waste was managed. An underground <br />oil -water separator system is used for rinsing of oily equipment and <br />occasional spill residual collection. The waste removed from this <br />system is being disposed of as non -hazardous. No hazardous waste <br />determination has been made for this waste.
