k' ■ KLEINFFLDER
The resulting groundwater elevations will be used to assess the direction of the groundwater
gradient at the time of sampling. This information can then be used to assess which wells represent
upgradient and which wells represent downgradient groundwater conditions.
Approximately forty-eight (48) hours after the new wells are developed, the three monitoring wells
will be purged and sampled. Approximately three to five well volumes will be purged, and samples
will be collected as described in Attachment B. The three monitoring well groundwater samples
will be submitted to a State certified laboratory for the following analyses:
• Total Purgeable Petroleum Hydrocarbons (Gasoline Range) [TPH-G] by EPA Method 8015M
• Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, Xylenes [BTEX] by EPA Method 8015M/8020M
• Oxygenates by EPA Method 8260
• Methanol using Industrial Solvent Scan by EPA Method 8015M
• Total Extractable Petroleum Hydrocarbons(Fuel Fingerprint)by EPA Method 8015M
The samples will be submitted for analyses on a normal laboratory schedule requiring
approximately two weeks (10 working days) for completion unless the optional rush analytical
turnaround is requested by the client at an additional charge.
2.4 Phase II ESA Report Preparation
Upon completion of the field activities and receipt of the analytical results, a report of findings
for the drilling of the soil borings and the monitoring well sampling will be prepared for client
and agency review. The report will include:
• A description of the field activities, observations, and protocols
• Lithologic Logs
• Tabulated results of soil and groundwater samples with copies of certified results
• A graphical representation of soil and groundwater sampling locations
• Description and documentation of QA/QC procedures employed for field and laboratory
work
• Kleinfelder's conclusions and recommendations based on the data acquired.
All information gathered during the study by Kleinfelder is considered confidential and will be
released only upon written authorization from the client or as required by law. California law
requires a person to inform the state if a situation is encountered that can be considered an
immediate endangerment to the public's health or welfare and/or to the environment. Therefore,
the client will be contractually bound to make any said disclosures in lieu of Kleinfelder, its
owners,principals, employees or subcontractors.
C20-3978-03.MTG/2002P 134 Page 3 of 6
Copyright 2002,Kleinfelder,Inc.
