will become contaminated or be affected by other existing site hazards. <br />Relative to this site, it is defined as a transition area upwind of, and <br />immediately adjacent to, the Exclusii <br />on Zone, and encompassng <br />decontamination/wash equipment and waste receptacles. It should be clearly <br />marked by lines, placards, hazard tape, and/or signs or enclosed by physical <br />barriers, such as chains, fences, or ropes. As above, the boundary may be <br />modified and adjusted as more information becomes available. <br />-Support Zone- A mobile area outside of the Exclusion Zone and CRZ. <br />Relative to this site, it is defined as a mobile area upwind of both the <br />Exclusion Zone and the CRZ. <br />Site security shall be required to prevent the exposure of unauthorized, <br />unprotected people to the site hazards; avoid the increased hazards from <br />vandals or persons seeking to abandon other wastes on the site; and prevent <br />theft and avoid interference with safe working procedures. <br />Site security shall include the following: <br />• Assign responsibility for enforcing authority for entry and exit <br />requirements. <br />• Set up a fence or other physical barrier around the site. <br />• If the site is not fenced, post warning signs around the perimeter and <br />use guards to patrol the area. <br />• All <br />visitors must be shown around by the site safety officer and have a <br />valid purpose for entering the site. Visitors must be accompanied by <br />trained site personnel and provided with the appropriate protective <br />equipment. <br />• Secure all equipment before leaving site. <br />5.4 AIR MONITORING <br />Air monitoring for organic vapors will be performed during excavation <br />activities in the Exclusion Zone. The monitoring will be performed utilizing a <br />field operated organic vapor analyzer (OVA) -flame ionization detector (FID) <br />and/ or photoionization detector (PID) and/or explosimeter. The OVA shall <br />be used in assessing appropriate health and safety protection levels within <br />the previously prescribed informal 50' Exclusion Zone. "Background" levels <br />of volatile organics in air shall be monitored with the OVA in areas away <br />from the influence of possible vapor/ gas releases from the site activities in <br />the Exclusion Zone. Consistent readings exceeding 10 ppm above <br />background for the OVA in the workers' breathing zone or 10% of the LEL in <br />any excavation shall initiate suspension or modification of operations until <br />CGSTERA WASTE &ENVIRONMENTAL, INC. 25 MAY 412021 <br />
