05 February 2018
AGE Project No. 18-4300
2.2. SOIL PROBE BORINGS AND SAMPLING
A total of two (2) soil borings are proposed near the onsite septic system, in a southwest
section of the property (Figure 2).
Generally, soil samples will be collected from each boring at 5, 10 and 15 feet below
surface grade (bsg). If no field evidence of petroleum hydrocarbon impact is
encountered from the soil samples, the boring will be terminated at a depth of 15 feet
below surface grade (bsg). Field personnel may adjust the frequency and method of
sampling in consultation with an AGE Professional Geologist.
Procedures for advancement of soil borings and sampling are presented in Section 3.0.
2.3. LABORATORY ANALYSIS
Selected soil samples will be analyzed by a California Department of Public Health
(CDPH)-certified laboratory for the following constituents:
Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (gasoline, diesel, motor oil) by EPA Method
8015M; and
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in accordance with EPA Method 8260B.
Laboratory reports for soil sample and groundwater analyses, testing methods,
laboratory quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reports, and sample chain-of-
custody documentation will be presented in a report with the findings and
recommendations.
2.4. REPORT PREPARATION
Upon completion of initial field work and receipt of final laboratory analysis, a report will
be prepared presenting findings of the investigation. The report of findings will include
descriptions of work performed and results of sampling and analysis. Also, conclusions
and applicable recommendations will be included in the report. Reports will be reviewed
and signed by a California Professional Geologist.
3.0. FIELD PROCEDURES
All field procedures will be overseen by an AGE representative working under the
supervision of a California Professional Geologist. Procedures for advancing the soil
boring, collection and analysis of soil samples, equipment decontamination and sample
handling are presented below.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
