25 October 2016
AGE Project No. 11-1847
Page 4 of 8
The proposed soil boring and monitoring well locations are illustrated in Figures 2 and 3.
Selected soil and grab groundwater samples will be analyzed by a State of California
Department of Public Health (CDPH)-certified laboratory for the following constituents:
Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with
EPA Method 8015M; and
Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX), naphthalene, fuel
additives (MTBE, ETBE, TAME, DIPE, TBA), ethylene dibromide (EDB) and 1,2-
dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) in accordance with EPA Method 8260B.
Additionally, selected soil samples collected from soil borings B-10 and B-11 will be
analyzed by a CDPH-certified laboratory for the following waste oil analysis:
Semi-volatile organic compounds (SVOCs) in accordance with EPA Method 8270;
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in accordance with EPA Method 8260;
Poly chlorinated bipehyls (PCBs) in accordance with EPA Method 8082 and
Title 22 metals in accordance with EPA Methods 200/6010.
Laboratory reports of soil analysis, testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality
control (QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented
in a report of findings and recommendations.
2.3. MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION, DEVELOPMENT, AND SURVEY
Soil borings MW-11 and MW-12 will be single-completed as deep groundwater monitoring
wells (-100 feet bsg). The proposed monitoring wells will be screened at depths of
approximately 90 feet to 100 feet bsg. Depth of the screened interval may vary according
to hydrogeologic conditions encountered while drilling.
Soil boring MW-13 will be single-completed as a shallow groundwater monitoring well
(-40 feet bsg). The proposed monitoring wells will be screened at depths of approximately
20 feet to 40 feet bsg. Depth of the screened interval may vary according to hydrogeologic
conditions encountered while drilling.
Following installation, each well will be developed to maximize water flow and minimize
the amount of fine-grained sediment drawn into the well during pumping or bailing. The
top of each newly installed well casing (well head) will be surveyed to determine its
elevation relative to North American Vertical Datum 88. An as built diagram of the
proposed construction of the proposed shallow and deep wells has been included as
Figures 4 and 5.
Advanced GeoEnvironniental Inc.
