Plant variety will provide multiple layers,
seasonality, more diverse habitat, and reduced susceptibility to disease.
■ The planting design will be created by a landscape architect and reflect
patterns that are in keeping with local, native ecosystem types. This would
help to maintain the local character. Strategic plantings could be used to
provide a buffer to residences, reducing the visual impacts resulting from the
proposed project and improving aesthetics.
■ Vegetation will be planted within the first year following project initiation.
■ An irrigation and maintenance program will be implemented during the plant
establishment period and carried on permanently.
d. No new light or glare sources are proposed within or near the landfill. Therefore,
there would be no impact. No mitigation is required.
AWL
IpNotice of Preparation for the June 2006
North County Recycling Center and Sanitary Landfill 2-11
Permit Revision AS 06307:06
