WET -PIPE SPRINKLER SYSTEMS <br />Section 15360 <br />15-1207 <br />C. Preparation of Drawings, Material Data Sheets, Hydraulic and Seismic <br />Calculations: It is the intent of these specifications that the installing contractor <br />before starting any work to verify and maintain completed prepared shop <br />drawings and calculations approved by Architect and/or Engineer of record <br />showing locations, sizes and types of all sprinkler heads, piping, valves, etc. <br />Approved shop drawings also to include material data sheets giving <br />manufacturer's name and catalog numbers, equipment descriptions giving <br />dimensions, capacities, performance curves, and complete layouts. Exposed <br />piping is specifically to be noted on shop drawings. <br />D. The contractor is responsible for securing approval from all agencies before <br />submitting to the architect's office. <br />E. The contractor shall provide seismic separation isolation where crossing all <br />building seismic joints. See Section 15340. <br />1.03 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A. Standards: The system shall conform to the requirements of the National Fire <br />Protection Association Standards for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems (2013 <br />NFPA 13, and 24). Provide coverage for various hazards in accordance with <br />NFPA and Local Fire Department requirements. <br />B. The wet -pipe sprinkler system design shall be a hydraulically calculated pipe <br />sized system that satisfies the 2013 CBC and 2013 NFPA 13 requirements. <br />Details and computations for calculated system must be submitted for approval. <br />Pipe sizes shown outside buildings and for risers are minimum regardless of <br />hydraulic calculations. <br />C. Qualifications of Installers: A firm licensed to engineer and install fire protection <br />systems such as that specified herein shall perform this work; the installing firm <br />must also be regularly and currently engaged in the installation of such systems. <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />2.01 GENERAL <br />A. All materials and equipment shall be new and of latest design of the <br />manufacturer and shall be tested and approved by the Underwriters <br />Laboratories, Inc. and Factory Mutual. <br />B. Sprinkler heads: Automatic Quick -Response type heads, fusible link or liquid <br />bulb of temperature rating as required by NFPA. Automatic Quick -Response <br />semi -recessed type heads (+ 7/8 below ceiling) shall be used at finished ceiling <br />and soffit locations without surface mounted fixtures. Heads at freezer box and/or <br />walls where freezing may occur (exposed to weather) shall be "Dry" pendant or <br />sidewall type. Heads in areas exposed without ceilings shall be standard brass <br />upright or pendant type. Heads and escutcheons finishes at lay -in ceilings and <br />2 <br />
