PLUMBING PIPING SYSTEMS <br />Section 15400 <br />15-1207 <br />2. Vent Couplings to be heavy-duty type in conformance with Factory Mutual <br />Standard 1680, Class I and/or ASTM C 1540. <br />a. Couplings to be as follows: "Husky" HD2000, White Shield coupling as <br />manufactured by Husky Technologies, or equal. Minimum Shield thickness <br />to be 0.010". <br />b. No -Hub Cast -Iron Soil Pipe Couplings: Couplings for use in connection with <br />no -hub Cast Iron Soil Pipe and Fittings shall comply with CISPI 310. <br />Shield and clamp assembly shall consist of a 300 series stainless steel <br />corrugated shield, stainless steel bands (4 -bands minimum), and sealing <br />sleeve in conformance with ASTM C564. <br />3. At Contractor's option, Type DWV hard drawn copper tubing with cast bronze <br />solder joint fittings and lead free solder may be used above ground in lieu of <br />galvanized steel vent piping and cast iron drainage fittings. Provide test tees as <br />specified. <br />C. Rain Water Piping <br />1. Cast iron soil pipe and fittings as specified for sanitary sewer piping. <br />2. Type DWV copper tubing may be used for concealed rainwater leaders. <br />D. Domestic Water Piping (cold water, hot water, tempered water, and hot water return): <br />Copper Tube: ASTM B 88, Type L, hard -drawn temper; except as otherwise <br />indicated. <br />2. Interior Water Piping: <br />a. Copper tube, Type L, hard -drawn temper, wrought copper fittings. <br />b. Pipe sizes 2" and smaller to have solder joints. <br />C. Pipe sizes 2 Y2" and larger to have brazed joints. <br />3. Under Slab Water Piping: <br />a. Pipe sizes 1 '/2" and smaller: Type K, soft Copper tubing with smoothly <br />formed bends. Runs to be made without joints except where runs are <br />longer than the standard length of tubing role. <br />b. Pipe sizes 2" and larger: Same as exterior water piping. <br />4. Exterior Water Piping: <br />a. Copper tube, Type L, hard -drawn temper, wrought copper fittings. <br />b. All pipe sizes to have brazed joints. <br />E. Natural Gas Piping: <br />Site Piping: <br />a. Polyethylene Pipe, PE2406; pipe and tubing shall meet requirements of <br />ASTM D2513. <br />b. Fittings and accessories shall be as manufactured and furnished by the <br />pipe supplier. Fittings shall meet the requirements of ASTM D2513, as <br />mandated by CFR 49 Part 192.59 and is so marked, according to Part <br />192.63. <br />IH <br />
