PACKAGED AIR CONDITIONING UNITS Section 15855 15-1207 H. Air Filters: 1. Provide two-inch thick, pleated MERV 8, 30%, filters with cardboard holding frames. 2. Air filters shall be of an approved type tested in accordance with test method SFM-31.6 as shown in Article 80, Title 19, California Code of Regulations. Pre -formed filters having combustible framing shall be tested as a complete assembly. 3. Air filters in all occupancies shall be Class 2 or better, as defined in the test method above. 4. Air filters shall be accessible for cleaning or replacement. 5. Provide sufficient spare filters for two complete changes for each unit. Economizer: 1. Provide factory dry-bulb 0-100% economizer with barometric relief. a. Shall be listed on the CEC web site. b. Maximum damper leakage rate to be equal to or less than 10.0 cfm/sq. ft. at 1.0 in. w.g., meeting or exceeding Title 24 2013 requirements. Economizer controller shall be Honeywell W7220 that provides: • 2 -line LCD interface screen for setup, configuration and troubleshooting. • On -board fault detection and diagnostics • Sensor failure loss of communication identification • Automatic sensor detection • Capabilities for use with multiple -speed indoor fan systems • Utilize digital sensors: Dry bulb and Enthalpy • 5 year manufacture parts warranty Gas Heat Exchanger: 1. Induced -draft combustion type with energy saving direct spark ignition system and redundant main gas valve. 2. Induced -draft motors shall provide adequate airflow for combustion. 3. The heat exchangers shall be constructed of aluminized steel for corrosion resistance. 4. Burners shall be of the in -shot type constructed of aluminum coated steel. 5. All gas piping and electric power shall enter the unit cabinet at a single location. 6. Heat exchanger shall have limited 10 year parts warranty. K. TXV: Provide factory installed thermal expansion valve (TXV) for each refrigerant circuit. L. CO2 Based Demand Control Ventilation: 1. Equipment supplier shall provide room CO2 sensor for connection to the rooftop unit controls that shall allow the unit outdoor air damper to modulate as necessary to keep CO2 levels within the settable range in the space. 2. Wiring from the CO2 sensor to the packaged rooftop shall be by the mechanical contractor. 2.04 THERMOSTATS AND CONTROL WIRING. A. Provide a Ventstar T8850 programmable thermostat (to meet District Standard — no exceptions) at each packaged AC Unit. Thermostat shall be capable of the following: 1. Up to 4 heat and 2 cool stages 2. Gas or electric heat pump control 3. Switchable programmable or non -programmable modes 4. Adjustable timers and deadband settings 5. Set point limiting pre -occupancy fan purge 6. Up to 4 hour override 6
