PACKAGED AIR CONDITIONING UNITS <br />Section 15855 <br />15-1207 <br />H. Air Filters: <br />1. Provide two-inch thick, pleated MERV 8, 30%, filters with cardboard holding frames. <br />2. Air filters shall be of an approved type tested in accordance with test method SFM-31.6 as <br />shown in Article 80, Title 19, California Code of Regulations. Pre -formed filters having <br />combustible framing shall be tested as a complete assembly. <br />3. Air filters in all occupancies shall be Class 2 or better, as defined in the test method above. <br />4. Air filters shall be accessible for cleaning or replacement. <br />5. Provide sufficient spare filters for two complete changes for each unit. <br />Economizer: <br />1. Provide factory dry-bulb 0-100% economizer with barometric relief. <br />a. Shall be listed on the CEC web site. <br />b. Maximum damper leakage rate to be equal to or less than 10.0 cfm/sq. ft. at 1.0 in. w.g., <br />meeting or exceeding Title 24 2013 requirements. Economizer controller shall be <br />Honeywell W7220 that provides: <br />• 2 -line LCD interface screen for setup, configuration and troubleshooting. <br />• On -board fault detection and diagnostics <br />• Sensor failure loss of communication identification <br />• Automatic sensor detection <br />• Capabilities for use with multiple -speed indoor fan systems <br />• Utilize digital sensors: Dry bulb and Enthalpy <br />• 5 year manufacture parts warranty <br />Gas Heat Exchanger: <br />1. Induced -draft combustion type with energy saving direct spark ignition system and <br />redundant main gas valve. <br />2. Induced -draft motors shall provide adequate airflow for combustion. <br />3. The heat exchangers shall be constructed of aluminized steel for corrosion resistance. <br />4. Burners shall be of the in -shot type constructed of aluminum coated steel. <br />5. All gas piping and electric power shall enter the unit cabinet at a single location. <br />6. Heat exchanger shall have limited 10 year parts warranty. <br />K. TXV: Provide factory installed thermal expansion valve (TXV) for each refrigerant circuit. <br />L. CO2 Based Demand Control Ventilation: <br />1. Equipment supplier shall provide room CO2 sensor for connection to the rooftop unit <br />controls that shall allow the unit outdoor air damper to modulate as necessary to keep CO2 <br />levels within the settable range in the space. <br />2. Wiring from the CO2 sensor to the packaged rooftop shall be by the mechanical contractor. <br />2.04 THERMOSTATS AND CONTROL WIRING. <br />A. Provide a Ventstar T8850 programmable thermostat (to meet District Standard — no exceptions) <br />at each packaged AC Unit. Thermostat shall be capable of the following: <br />1. Up to 4 heat and 2 cool stages <br />2. Gas or electric heat pump control <br />3. Switchable programmable or non -programmable modes <br />4. Adjustable timers and deadband settings <br />5. Set point limiting pre -occupancy fan purge <br />6. Up to 4 hour override <br />6 <br />
