DUCTLESS SPLIT SYSTEM <br />AC UNITS <br />Section 15865 <br />15-1207 <br />F. Oil Loops and Double Risers: Provide to assure successful operation. <br />2.03 PKA SERIES DUCTLESS SPLIT SYSTEM AIR CONDITIONER <br />A. General: <br />1. The Air Conditioner system shall be a Mitsubishi Electric split system with <br />Variable Speed Inverter Compressor technology. The system shall consist of a <br />wall mounted indoor section with wired, wall mounted controller and a horizontal <br />discharge, single phase outdoor unit. <br />2. Provide model and capacity to be as scheduled on drawings. <br />a. Cooling performance shall be based on 80°F DB, 67°F WB for the indoor <br />unit and 95°F DB, 75°F WB for the outdoor unit. <br />3. A dry air holding charge shall be provided in the indoor section. <br />4. The outdoor unit shall be pre -charged with R -410a refrigerant for 70 feet of <br />refrigerant tubing. <br />a. Where required, provide charge system with extra refrigerant. <br />5. System efficiency shall meet or exceed scheduled SEER. <br />B. Indoor Unit Cabinet: <br />1. The indoor unit cabinet shall be wall mounted by means of a factory supplied <br />mounting plate. The cabinet shall be formed from high strength molded plastic <br />with front panel access for filter. <br />2. The indoor unit shall be factory assembled, wired and tested. Contained within <br />the unit shall be all factory wiring and internal piping, control circuit board and fan <br />motor. <br />3. The unit in conjunction with the wired, wall mounted controller shall have a self- <br />diagnostic function, 3 -minute time delay mechanism, an auto restart function, and <br />a test run switch. <br />4. Indoor unit and refrigerant pipes shall be purged with dry nitrogen before <br />shipment from the factory. <br />C. Indoor Unit Fan: <br />1. The evaporator fan shall be high performance, double inlet, forward curve, direct <br />drive sirocco fan with a single motor <br />2. The fans shall be statically and dynamically balanced and run on a motor with <br />permanently lubricated bearings. <br />3. The indoor fan shall have fan speeds as listed on drawings. <br />a. Unless noted otherwise, set fan speed on low. <br />D. Indoor Unit Vane <br />1. There shall be a motorized horizontal vane to automatically direct air flow in a <br />horizontal and downward direction for uniform air distribution. The horizontal <br />vane shall significantly decrease downward air resistance for lower noise levels, <br />and shall close the outlet port when operation is stopped. <br />2. There shall also be a set of vertical vanes to provide horizontal swing airflow <br />movement selected by remote control. <br />E. Indoor Unit Filter: <br />1. Return air shall be filtered by means of an easily removable washable filter. <br />3 <br />
