SITE ELECTRICAL WORK, GENERAL <br />REQUIREMENTS <br />Section 16000 <br />15-1207 <br />1.3 DEFINITIONS: <br />A. "Listed": Equipment is "listed" if it is of a kind which is mentioned in a list which: <br />1. Is published by a nationally recognized laboratory which makes periodic inspection of <br />production of such equipment. <br />2. States that such equipment meets nationally recognized standards or has been tested and <br />found safe for use in a specific manner. <br />B. "Labeled": Equipment is labeled if: <br />1. It embodies a valid label, symbol, or other identifying mark of a nationally recognized testing <br />laboratory such as Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. <br />2. The laboratory makes periodic inspection of the production of such equipment. <br />3. The labeling indicates compliance with nationally recognized standards or tests to determine <br />safe use in a specific manner. <br />C."Certis"eriifndedif: <br />1. Equipment has been tested and found by a nationally recognized testing laboratory to meet <br />nationally recognized standards or to be safe for use in a specific manner. <br />2. Production periodically inspected by a nationally recognized testing laboratory. <br />3. It bears a label, tag or other record of certification. <br />D. "Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory": A testing laboratory which is approved, in <br />accordance with OSHA regulation, by the Secretary of Labor. <br />E. "The Contractor": Refers to the prime contractors. <br />F. "The Architect": Refers to the Professional Architect. <br />G. "The Owner": Refers to the legally registered owner of the project or their authorized <br />representative. <br />H. "The Engineer": Refers to the Professional Electrical Engineer. <br />"Provide": Construed to mean furnish (supply), install and connect complete and ready for safe <br />and regular operation of particular work referred to unless otherwise noted. <br />J "Furnish": Construed to mean purchase, procure, acquire and deliver complete with related <br />accessories to project site. <br />K. "Install": Construed to mean to physically erect and mount the item(s) complete with related <br />accessories in-place. <br />L. "Connect": Construed to mean make final electrical connections for a complete operating piece <br />of equipment with related accessories. <br />M. "As directed": As told by the Owner or their authorized representative in written directives <br />L <br />
