SOUND & COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS <br />Section 16700 <br />15-1207 <br />PART 1 — GENERAL <br />1.1 DESCRIPTION <br />A. Furnish all labor, project management, materials, tools, equipment and resources necessary for the <br />installation of a new Intercom System as shown on the plans and as herein specified. <br />B. It is the intent of these specifications and the accompanying plans that the Contractor furnishes and <br />installs a system complete in every respect and ready to operate. All miscellaneous items and <br />accessories required for such installation, whether or not each such item or accessory is shown on <br />the plans or mentioned in these specifications, shall be furnished and installed. <br />C. Furnish additional items not mentioned herein to meet requirements as specified without claim for <br />additional payments. Items, may include hardware, rack panels, 66131ocks etc., and other devices <br />that are required for installation. <br />D. It shall be the responsibility of each Bidder to examine the plans and specifications carefully before <br />submitting his bid. Any questions or discrepancies discovered shall be brought to the attention of the <br />Architect/Engineer, prior to bid, and resolved by way of addendum. <br />E. The Intercom System shall include intercom, audio paging, text -to -speech, and program distribution <br />functions for distribution of schedules, emergency tones and messages via Intercom System <br />speakers. <br />F. The system shall be connected at the head -end, to the Owner's phone system, to allow integration <br />of the two systems. It is this contractor's responsibility to coordinate with the Owner to insure <br />compatibility of intercom and phone system prior to any procurement of intercom system <br />components. Provide all necessary interconnecting equipment. Coordinate with Owner to determine <br />exact configuration of their phone system. <br />G. This contractor is responsible for the tie-in and testing of the phone/intercom system tie-ins to allow <br />paging by any phone, and answering of the assigned phones to call switch call -ins and main entry <br />door switch activation. <br />H. Furnish and install all necessary equipment, including but not limited to backboxes, specialty boxes, <br />speakers, wall plates, supports and enclosures. <br />I. Furnish and install all necessary structured cabling as needed from speakers and other IP <br />equipment to IDF's or MDF, and provide for all network connectivity (i.e. fiber patch cables, Cat6 <br />cablse, etc.) for distribution of the intercom system. <br />J. Furnish all programming of the system (initial and final) and audio level adjustments (initial and final). <br />K. All materials, equipment and apparatus provided shall be new and of the latest design or model <br />offered for sale by the manufacturer. <br />1.1 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A.
