MULTI-PURPOSE SOUND SYSTEM <br />Section 16780 <br />15-1207 <br />equipment or system is specified directly, the current manufacturer's specification for the <br />same shall be considered to be a part of these specifications, as if completely contained <br />herein in every detail. <br />I. All materials specified herein shall be new and shall be the manufacturer's latest <br />design, permanently labeled with the manufacturer's name, model number and serial <br />number. All active circuitry shall be solid state and shall be rated for continuous use. <br />Similar devices shall be of the same manufacturer, unless specifically noted otherwise <br />in these specifications. <br />2. All auxiliary and incidental equipment necessary for the operation and protection of <br />the systems specified in this section shall be furnished and installed as if specified in <br />full herein. <br />I. Power Rating: All devices connected to the Project electrical system shall be listed by UL <br />or City Lab, and shall be so labeled. All devices connected to the Project electrical <br />system and all auxiliary equipment necessary to the operation of the equipment <br />associated with the systems specified herein shall be designated to operate from 105 to <br />130 VAC, 60 Hz service, with stable performance and fully in accordance with these <br />specifications. All such devices shall have integral fuse or circuit breaker protection. <br />1. All circuit breakers shall be fully magnetic. <br />2. Contractor fabricated items shall be provided with either indicating type circuit <br />breakers or fuses of the clear glass cartridge type, mounted in fuse holders which <br />will indicate a blown of defective fuse. <br />3. Protection devices shall be located to facilitate examination, resetting and/or <br />replacement without the need to disassemble or de -mount the associated device. <br />4. All circuit components shall be operated in full compliance with the manufacturer's <br />recommendations and shall contain sufficient permanent identification to facilitate <br />replacement. <br />J. Construction: <br />1. All alantrnnin egwiirnment shall he of the "dead -front" type and shall be designed for <br />standard 19" EIA rack mounting, unless noted otherwise. <br />2. Steel frames and enclosures shall be designed and wired to eliminate all induced <br />currents within both the units and the systems. All bolted connections shall be <br />made with self-locking devices. <br />3. Coordinate all consoles and panels so that the general appearance is similar, or as <br />directed by the Architect. All operating panels shall be at least 1/8" thick aluminum. <br />Provide locking panel covers on all recessed, semi -recessed or surface mounted <br />control panels not located in the equipment rooms, unless specifically noted <br />otherwise. Panel locks shall be flush with no protrusions beyond the panel face <br />when the door is closed. Provide at least six (6) spare keys for each different lock, <br />stamped with the appropriate designation as shown on the shop drawings. Key all <br />panels provided for similar usage within a system identically. <br />4. Semi -recessed and surface mounted control panels shall be contained within steel <br />back boxes at least 1/16" thick, with all seams and joints overlapped and spot <br />10 <br />
