MULTI-PURPOSE SOUND SYSTEM <br />Section 16780 <br />15-1207 <br />welded. Operating panel mounting considerations shall be the same as those for <br />recessed panels. <br />6. All contractor fabricated printed circuit boards shall be at least 1/16" thick G-10 <br />glass fabric epoxy base, copper plated to a minimum density of 2.0 oz/sq. ft. on <br />one or both sides, and finished with 60/40 tin led solder either hot rolled or plated <br />over the copper. All holes through the boards shall be plated through and solder <br />filled, or wire jumpers installed and soldered on both sides. All boards shall be <br />permanently identified with a designation that matches that of the mating connector <br />or board position in the assembly. <br />7. All printed circuit boards shall be mechanically secured by bolt or friction -loading <br />guide, in addition to any electrical connector attachment, and shall include an <br />integral extraction grip. <br />8. Printed circuit boards shall be connected to associated circuitry via soldered <br />connections, precious metal positively keyed card edge connectors, or captive type <br />screw connectors, or positive locking pin connectors. <br />K. Identification: Provide permanent intelligible identification on, or adjacent to, all controls, <br />fuses, circuit breakers, patching jacks, connectors, receptacles and the like. This <br />identification shall clearly and distinctly indicate the function of the item and shall be <br />numbered or lettered to correspond with the function, circuit and location consistent with <br />field and shop drawings. <br />1. Identification of fuses and circuit breakers shall indicate protected circuitry, rating <br />of protective device and voltage across open circuited protected device. <br />2. Panel surfaces shall be engraved and filled or silk screened with identification, or <br />shall be equipped with 1/8" thick laminated plastic labels with engraved <br />characters at least 1/8" high (white characters on black background) fastened to <br />the equipment by screws or rivets. Under no conditions will embossed plastic <br />labels or dry transfer lettering be considered acceptable. Coordinate engraving <br />colors and sizes with the Architect. <br />3. Each principal element of the system shall be completely wired internally with <br />consistently identified terminal strips provided for all appropriate connections. <br />These designations shall be shown on all related drawings and documentation. <br />L. Finishes: <br />1. All steel surfaces shall be treated with an appropriate primer and finish painted <br />with enamel paint. <br />2. All aluminum surfaces except those used as operating surfaces, shall be <br />anodized or treated with an appropriate primer and finish painted with a <br />thermosetting epoxy paint. <br />3. Finish colors shall be as indicated in Contract Documents or as approved by the <br />Owner. <br />2.2 SPEAKERS <br />A. Speech intelligibility shall be the primary goal during sporting events. The spectators' <br />bleacher speakers shall be aimed and tuned to reduce unwanted reflections and echoes <br />from the walls and floor.
