CUTTING AND PATCHING <br />Section 01045 <br />15-1207 <br />PART 2 -PRODUCTS <br />2.01 MATERIALS <br />A. Comply with these specifications, standards and manufacturer's recommendations for each <br />specific product involved. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 INSPECTION <br />A. Prior to installation of the work of this Section, carefully inspect and verify that installed work <br />of all other trades is complete to the point where this installation may properly commence. <br />B. Inspect existing conditions of Project, including elements subject to damage or to movement <br />during cutting and patching. <br />C. After uncovering work, inspect conditions affecting installation of products, or performance of <br />work. <br />D. Verify that specified items may be installed in accordance with the approved design. <br />E. In event of discrepancy, immediately notify Architect. Do not proceed in discrepant areas <br />until discrepancies have been fully resolved. <br />3.02 PREPARATION <br />A. Provide adequate temporary support as necessary to assure structural value or integrity of <br />affected portion of work. <br />B. Provide devices and methods to protect other portions of Project from damage. <br />C. Provide protection from elements for that portion of Project which may be exposed by cutting <br />and patching work, and maintain excavations free from water. <br />3.03 INSTALLATION <br />A. Execute cutting and demolition by methods which will prevent damage to other work and will <br />provide proper surfaces to receive installation of repairs. <br />B. Execute excavating and backfilling by methods which will prevent settlement or damage to <br />other work. <br />C. Execute fitting and adjustment of products to provide finished installation to comply with <br />specified products, functions, tolerances and finishes. <br />D. Restore work which has been cut or removed; install new products to provide completed <br />work in accord with requirements of Contract Documents. <br />E. Fit work airtight to pipe, sleeves, ducts, conduit and other penetrations through surfaces. <br />3 <br />
