CONSTRUCTION FACILITIES AND <br />TEMPORARY CONTROLS <br />Section 01500 <br />15-1207 <br />PART 2 -PRODUCTS <br />2.01 TEMPORARY UTILITIES <br />A. General: Provide water, electricity, gas, fire protection and other specified utility services <br />required during construction and extend temporary service lines to construction areas to <br />allow use by all trades and subcontractors. <br />B. Temporary Water: <br />1. Owner will provide source and pay for water for construction purposes from existing <br />available source(s) on site. This does not include use of hydrants or off-site sources. <br />If necessary provide and pay for these services. <br />2. Provide temporary connections to source and sufficient hose or pipe to carry water to <br />every required part of construction. <br />C. Temporary Electrical Facilities: <br />1. Electrical Service: Provide such temporary electrical power and facilities as necessary <br />to supply lighting for work operations and power for portable power driven tools and for <br />testing. <br />2. Owner will provide temporary power free of charge from existing outlets. If existing <br />sources are insufficient, provide and pay for temporary service from off-site. <br />3. Construction Requirements: Construct and maintain all temporary electrical facilities in <br />accordance with division of Industrial Safety "Electrical Safety Orders" (ESO), Public <br />Utilities Commission 'Rules for Overhead Line Construction" (G.O. 95), and <br />requirements of equipment used for these facilities shall be in good and safe condition, <br />but need not be new. <br />D. Temporary Heat and Ventilation: <br />Provide heat and ventilation as required to protect work and materials and to keep <br />humidity down to extent required to prevent corrosion of metal and to prevent <br />dampness or mildew which is potentially damaging to materials and finishes. In <br />addition, provide heat and ventilation prior to and during specific work operations, as <br />follows: <br />a. For 7 days previous to placing of interior finish materials and throughout <br />application of drywall, painting and laying of resilient flooring materials, provide <br />sufficient heat to produce temperature of not less than 65 degrees F. <br />b. After finishing trades are completed and until final acceptance or occupancy by <br />Owner, provide sufficient heat to maintain temperature of not less than 60 <br />degrees. <br />2. Fuel, equipment and method of heating and ventilating shall be approved by Architect. <br />2.02 FIELD OFFICE <br />A. Provide field office on site. Include separate office space of sufficient size for use by <br />Architect and Inspector. Office shall be of temporary form of construction with wood floor; <br />2 <br />
