SITE CLEARING AND REMOVAL <br />Section 02110 <br />15-1207 <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 EXAMINATION <br />A. Visit the site so that a full understanding of the difficulties and restrictions attending complete <br />clearing of the site and removal of underground tanks and utilities is obtained. Verify the <br />location of all pertinent items. <br />B. Verify with sewer department, water department, gas company, electric company, etc. that all <br />existing utilities, services and overhead lines have been deactivated and abandoned prior to <br />beginning removal work. Notify affected utility department or company prior to beginning <br />removal work. <br />Contact the local "Miss Dig" prior to beginning clearing and removal work. <br />3.02 PREPARATION <br />A. Cut drainage swales and provide temporary grading to carry storm water away from clearing <br />area. No storm water will be permitted to stand in open excavations. <br />B. Provide, erect and maintain temporary barriers and security devices as required. Protect all <br />existing landscaping, structures, utilities and site elements which are not to be demolished. <br />C. Notify all affected utility companies and local authorities and agencies prior to beginning the <br />work. <br />D. Identify and tag all existing trees and other landscaping designated to remain. <br />E. Identify and locate a permanent stockpile area for topsoil. Verify with District Representative <br />and see plans for fill soil stockpile area. Coordinate with Landscape Contractor. <br />F. Identify and locate a waste area for temporary storage of removed materials and a permanent <br />topsoil stockpile area. <br />No materials may be buried or burned on the site as a means of disposal. <br />3.03 PERFORMANCE <br />A. This contractor shall be responsible for all clearing, grubbing, removing and disposing of trash <br />and debris and for clearing and stockpiling all topsoil which are within the designated limits of <br />the property, easements and roadway rights-of-way, unless otherwise indicated on the <br />drawings. <br />B. Prior to rough grading, storage of construction materials or the installation of any temporary <br />construction facilities, strip areas per plans to be occupied by site improvements. <br />C. This contractor shall be responsible for removal of sidewalks, pavements, curbs and gutters, <br />exterior slabs and sidewalks indicated to be removed on plans. <br />D. This contractor shall be responsible for removal of all underground utilities, underground <br />structures, etc., according to plans. <br />4 <br />
