EARTHWORK <br />Section 02200 <br />15-1207 <br />K. CAL -OSHA, Title 8, Section 1590 (e). <br />L Any work within the street, highway or right-of-way shall be performed in accordance with the <br />requirement of the governmental agencies having jurisdiction, and shall not begin until all of <br />those governing authorities have been notified. <br />1.07 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING <br />A. Transport, store and handle in strict accord with the local jurisdiction. <br />B. Make delivery to job when notified by Contractor verifying that the job is ready to receive the <br />work of this Section and that arrangements have been made to properly store, handle and <br />protect such materials and work. <br />1.08 PROJECT CONDITIONS <br />A. Existing civil, mechanical and electrical improvements are shown on respective site plans to <br />the extent known. Should the Contractor encounter any deviation between actual conditions <br />and those shown, he is to immediately notify the Architect before continuing work. <br />B. Excavation dewatering may be necessary. Contractor shall provide any and all tools, <br />equipment and labor necessary for excavation dewatering no matter what the source. <br />Dewatering shall be continuous until all site utilities are installed and backfilled. <br />1.09 EXISTING SITE CONDITIONS <br />A. Contractor shall acquaint himself with all site conditions. If unknown active utilities are <br />encountered during work, notify Architect promptly for instructions. Failure to notify will make <br />Contractor liable for damage to these utilities arising from Contractor's operations <br />subsequent to discovery of such unknown active utilities. <br />1.10 ON SITE UTILITY VERIFICATION AND REPAIR PROCEDURES <br />A. Ground -breaking requirements: <br />1. All underground work performed by a Contractor must be authorized by the District's <br />Construction Manager or the Low Voltage Consultant prior to start of construction. <br />2. The Contractor is to obtain and keep the original School's construction utility site <br />plans on site during all excavation operations. Contractor can contact the District's <br />Construction Manager, Facilities Manager, or the Low Voltage Consultant to procure <br />the drawings. <br />B. Underground Utility Locating: <br />1. The contractor shall hire an Underground Utility Locating Service to locate existing <br />underground utility pathways in areas effected by the scope of work for excavation. <br />2. Contractor must use an underground utility locator service with a minimum of 3 years <br />experience. The equipment operator must have demonstrated experience. <br />3. The Underground Utility Locator Service must have the use of equipment with the <br />3 <br />
