ORNAMENTAL METAL <br />FENCING — MECHANICALLY <br />FASTENED <br />Section 02446 <br />15-1207 <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />2.01 MANUFACTURER <br />A. The fence system shall conform to Montage II ATF, MajesticTm design, flush bottom rail <br />treatment, standard picket space, 3 -Rail style as manufactured by Ameristar Fence <br />Products, Inc., of Tulsa, Oklahoma or approved equal. <br />2.02 MATERIAL <br />A. Steel material for fence panels and posts shall conform to the requirements of ASTM <br />A653/A653M, with a minimum yield strength of 45,000 psi and a minimum zinc (hot -dip <br />galvanized) coating weight of 0.90 oz/sf, Coating Designation G-90. <br />B. Material for fence pickets shall be 1" square x 14 Ga. tubing. The cross sectional shape of <br />the rails shall be steel channel, with the outside cross-sectional dimensions of 1.75" x 1.75" x <br />1.05". Picket holes in the rail shall be spaced 4.715" o.c. <br />C. Line and corner posts shall be a minimum of 3" square x 12 Ga. <br />D. Gate posts to be a minimum of 4" square x 11 gauge for gate widths up to 4'-6". Gate posts <br />to be minimum 4" square x %4" wall where gate leaf width is from 4'-6" and less than 7"-6". <br />Gate posts to be minimum 6" square x Y4" wall where gate leaf width is 7'-6" and wider. Gate <br />post size to be same on both sides of gate. Grout solid all hinge side gate posts at all 4" <br />x'/4" and larger posts. <br />E. Provide all gates with a minimum of 3 -heavy duty barrel hinges per leaf. <br />F. In addition to other hardware shown or required, provide a hasp at +42" above grade at <br />double leaf gates, suitable for use with a padlock. All hardware shall be ADA compliant. <br />G. Security Screen: 16 -gauge, galvanized and perforated steel sheet with 1/8 -inch holes <br />staggered at 3/16 -inches on center, welded to the fabricated gate or fence panel assembly, <br />hot -dip galvanized. <br />2.03 FABRICATION <br />A. Pickets, rails, and posts shall be precut to specified lengths. Rails shall be pre -punched to <br />accept pickets. <br />B. Pickets shall be inserted into the pre -punched holes in the rails and shall be aligned to <br />standard spacing using a specially calibrated alignment fixture. Each picket and rail shall be <br />joined using the fusion welding process thus completing the rigid panel assembly. <br />C. Completed panels shall be capable of supporting a 600 Ib. load (applied at midspan) without <br />permanent deformation. Panels shall be biasable to a 25% change in grade. <br />D. Gates shall be fabricated using Montage II panel materials except uprights shall be 2" square <br />x 11 ga. All rail and upright intersections shall be joined by welding. All picket and rail <br />intersections shall also be joined by the same welding process used for panel assembly. <br />Self closing gates to comply with 2010 ADA Standards, section 404.2.8.2. <br />3 <br />
