Provide valves as shown and other valves necessary to segregate branches or units. <br />Furnish valves suitable for service intended. Valves shall be properly packed and <br />lubricated. Valves shall be non -rising stem. Place unions adjacent to each threaded or <br />sweat fitting valve. Install valves with bonnets vertical. All valves shall be lead free. <br />B. Valves Y2" thru 2"; shall be made of bronze, full size of pipe and lead free. Nibco S -113 - <br />FL Series; American G-300 Series; Matco 511 FL Series; Apollo 102T -FL Series. Brass <br />valves of brass parts within valves will not be accepted. <br />C. Valves, 2 Y2" thru 3" shall be class 150; Shall be made of bronze, full size of pipe; <br />Jenkins Fig. 2310 J; Lunkinheimer Fig. 2153; Crane Fig. 437; Stockham Fig. B-128. <br />D. Valves, Flanged; 4" thru 12" Ductile Iron Resilient Wedge Gate Valve; Nibco F 609 RW; <br />American 2500 Series; Kennedy 8561; Mueller 2360 Series. <br />2.08 FIRE HYDRANTS <br />A. Clow 960 Factory Painted per Local Jurisdiction Requirements, or approved equal, 36" <br />(min) bury, two 2-1/2" hose nozzles, one 4-1/2" pumper nozzle, intermediate section to <br />serve as break -off flange with check valve. Hydrant shall conform to, and installation <br />shall comply with the Local Jurisdiction. <br />2.09 POST INDICATOR <br />A. Post Indicator shall be Mueller Co. A-20806 (adjustable) or as approved by local <br />jurisdiction approved equal. <br />2.10 BACKFLOW PREVENTERS <br />Double Check Valve, Double Check Detector and Reduced Pressure Backflow Preventers <br />A. Backflow preventers shall be as required by the local agency and by the State of <br />California's Department of Health Services most Recent list of approved reduced <br />pressure backflow preventers. All approved backflow preventers shall have ductile iron <br />bodies. <br />1. Provide Backflow preventer blankets with locking device. Weatherguard R-30 <br />insulated or equal. <br />7 <br />
