PIPED UTILITIES <br />Section 02700 <br />15-1207 <br />clean and adjust equipment, fixtures and trim that are installed as part of this work. <br />Leave systems and equipment in satisfactory new operating condition. <br />B. Drain and flush piping to remove grease and foreign matter. <br />C. Sewer piping shall be balled and flushed, and air tested. <br />D. Clean out and remove surplus materials and debris resulting from the work, including <br />surplus excavated material. <br />E. Flush fire service piping 3 times in the presence of the project inspector. Each flushing <br />shall be 3 minutes minimum. <br />3.07 SEWER INTERNAL INSPECTIONS <br />A. Upon completion of construction and prior to final inspection, the Contractor shall clean <br />the entire new pipeline of all dirt and debris. Any dirt or debris in previously existing <br />pipes or ditches in the area, which resulted from the new installation, shall also be <br />removed. Pipes shall be cleaned by the controlled balling and flushing method. <br />Temporary plugs shall be installed and maintained during cleaning operations at points <br />of connection to existing facilities to prevent water, dirt, and debris from entering the <br />existing facility. <br />3.08 TEST OF PIPING <br />A. Test piping at completion of roughing -in, in accord with following schedule, and show no <br />loss in pressure or visible leaks after minimum duration or four (4) hours at test <br />pressures indicated. <br />TEST SCHEDULE <br />System Tested <br />Public Water Mains <br />Private Domestic Water Piping: <br />Fire Protection Piping: <br />Sanitary Sewer Piping: <br />Test Pressure PSIG Test With <br />Per local jurisdiction requirements. <br />150 PSI Water 2 hrs. <br />200 Lbs. Water pressure, 4 hrs duration <br />with no pressure loss, or per Fire Code <br />Sewer system shall be air tested at 3.5 PSI <br />for 5 minutes minimum. <br />B. Testing equipment, materials, and labor shall be furnished by contractor. <br />3.09 WATER SYSTEM STERILIZATION <br />A.
