LANDSCAPING <br />Section 02900 <br />Project 15-1207 <br />C. Existing Utilities: Provide protection for existing utilities within construction area. At no <br />additional cost to Owner, repair any damages to utility lines that occur as a result of this <br />work. <br />D. Landscaping: Protect landscape work and materials from damage due to landscape <br />operations, operations by other contractors and trades, and trespassers. Maintain <br />protection during installation and maintenance periods. <br />E. Paving: Maintain cleanliness of paving areas and other public areas used by equipment, <br />and immediately remove spillage; remove rubbish, debris, and other material resulting <br />from landscaping work, leaving site in a safe and clean condition. <br />1.08 PLANTING SCHEDULE / ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS <br />A. Install, establish, and maintain all lawn areas for a minimum of ninety (90) days prior to <br />date of substantial completion. Coordinate schedule with other work and overall project <br />schedule. Failure to install lawn areas by this date shall result in assessment of <br />liquidated damages. <br />B. Proceed with work in an orderly and timely manner to complete installation of <br />landscaping within contract limits. <br />C. Planting Season Limits: Do not plant when grounds are wet or temperature is below 25° <br />F. Do not proceed with any soil preparation and fertilization if all planting cannot be <br />completed within Planting Season Limit. <br />1.09 LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE PERIOD REQUIREMENTS <br />A. Beginning of Landscape Maintenance Period: <br />General: Landscape Maintenance Period does not begin until all work is <br />installed and lawn has evenly germinated to an approximated blade height of <br />one and one-half inches (1 Y2"), as determined by Landscape Architect, in writing. <br />2. On-site Inspection: When all work is complete, request and hold a meeting to <br />include the Landscape Architect, Proiect Inspector, Architect and Owner's <br />Representative who must together authorize and determine the start date for the <br />landscape maintenance period. Coordinate and give notice of the date and time <br />of the on-site meeting to all parties at least forty-eight (48) hours in advance. <br />3. Acceptability: In cases where the lawn has reached adequate fullness and <br />germination in some areas but not all, and authorization has not been given to <br />begin the maintenance period, proceed with mowing, trimming, spraying, etc., as <br />necessary prior to the beginning of the maintenance period. <br />B. Duration of Landscape Maintenance Period: <br />The Landscape Maintenance Period shall continue for a minimum of ninety (90) <br />calendar days.
