STRUCTURAL STEEL <br />Section 05100 <br />15-1207 <br />3. Provide letter certifying all materials supplied are from heat numbers covered by <br />supplied mill certificates. Include in letter the physical location of each material type <br />and/or heat number in the project (i.e. walls, braced frames etc.). <br />4. Unidentified Material Tests: Where identification of materials by heat number to mill <br />tests cannot be made, Owner's Testing Agency shall test unidentified materials as <br />described below. <br />5. Provide all certification, verifications, and other test data required to substantiate <br />specified material properties at no additional cost to the Owner. <br />E. Testing and Inspection: Tests and Inspections performed by Independent Testing Agency <br />are specified below in Articles SOURCE QUALITY CONTROL and FIELD QUALITY <br />CONTROL. Duties and limitations of Independent Testing Agency, test costs and test <br />reports in conformance with pertinent sections of Division 01. The Testing Agency will review <br />all submittals and testing of materials. <br />F. The following standards are the minimum level of quality required. Provide higher quality <br />work as specifically indicated in the Contract Documents. <br />1. Workmanship and details of structural steel work, shall conform to the California <br />Building Code, and the AISC Specification for Structural Steel Building. <br />2. The quality of materials and the fabrication of all welded connections shall conform to <br />the American Welding Society, AWS D1.1 - Structural Welding Code. <br />3. Comply with Section 10 of AISC "Code of Standard Practice for Steel Buildings and <br />Bridges" for architecturally exposed structural steel. <br />G. Qualifications of suppliers and personnel: <br />1. The steel fabricator shall have not less than five years continuous experience in the <br />fabrication of structural steel. <br />2. The steel erector shall have not less than five years continuous experience in the <br />erection of structural steel. <br />3. All welding shall be performed by operators who are qualified as prescribed in <br />"Qualification Procedure" of AWS D1.1 of the American Welding Society. Welding <br />shall be performed only under Fire Marshal permit as required by local jurisdiction. <br />H. Codes and Standards: In addition to complying with 2010 California Building Code (CBC) as <br />adopted by the Division of the State Architect (DSA), comply with: <br />1. "Steel Construction Manual" of the American Institute of Steel Construction, 13th <br />edition. <br />2. AISC 360: "Specification for Structural Steel Buildings" of the American Institute of <br />Steel Construction, current edition. <br />3. AISC 303: "Code of Standard Practice for Structural Steel Buildings and Bridges" by <br />the American Institute of Steel Construction, current edition. <br />4. ANSI/AWS D1.1/D1.1 M: "Structural Welding Code -Steel" of the American Welding <br />Society, current edition. <br />5. "Specification for Structural Joints using ASTM A325 or A490 Bolts" approved by <br />Research Council on Structural Connections (RCSC). <br />6.
