STRUCTURAL STEEL <br />Section 05100 <br />15-1207 <br />All testing and inspection shall be in accordance with CBC, Chapter 17A, and Section 2212A. <br />Conflicting requirements: In the event of conflict between pertinent codes and regulations <br />and the requirements of the referenced standards or these specifications, the provisions of <br />the more stringent shall govern. <br />1.04 SUBMITTALS <br />A. Refer to Section 01300 <br />B. Manufacturer's Data: Submit list and complete descriptive data of all products proposed for <br />use. Include manufacturer's specifications, published warranty or guarantee, installation <br />instructions, and maintenance instructions. <br />C. Shop Drawings: Submit showing all parts, connections and anchorages, adjacent materials, <br />fully dimensioned and noted. <br />1. Within 35 days after award of Contract, and prior to fabrication of structural steel, <br />submit Shop Drawings to the Architect for approval. <br />2. Show all shop and erection details including cuts, copes, connections, holes, <br />threaded fasteners, rivets, and welds. Indicate profiles, sizes, spacing, and <br />locations of structural members, openings, and attachments. <br />3. Show all welds, both shop and field, by the currently recommended symbols of the <br />American Welding Society. <br />4. Shop drawings shall not be made by using reproductions of Contract Drawings. <br />5. Other procedures, along with test required to qualify in accordance with AWS Code <br />Section 4.1.1, shall be submitted to testing agency, DSA and Structural Engineer of <br />Record for approval prior to use. <br />6. Provide the following as separate and complete submittals for each building. Architect <br />approval is required if individual building submittals are desired to be phased. <br />a. Bolt and Anchor setting plans. <br />b. Layout, Fabrication and Erection Drawings. <br />D. Welding Procedure Specifications: <br />a. Prequalification of WPSs (Welding Procedure Specifications) shall be defined as <br />exemption from the WPS qualification testing required in AWS D1.1, Section 4. <br />All prequalified WPSs to be used shall be prepared by the manufacturer, <br />fabricator or Contractor as written prequalified WPSs. After the "Testing <br />Laboratory" has reviewed submitted prequalified WPSs for conformance to the <br />contract documents and AWS Section 3, file two record copies with the Architect. <br />WPSs that do not conform to the requirements of Section 3 may be qualified by <br />tests in conformance with AWS Section 4; testing paid for by the Owner and <br />backcharged to the Contractor. <br />b. Welding procedures for both shop and field welds, which are deemed <br />prequalified in accordance with AWS Code Section 4, shall be prepared as <br />written procedures and shall be submitted for approval to testing agency, DSA <br />and Structural Engineer of Record prior to commencement of fabrication. <br />E. Samples: Provide samples to the Testing Agency as specified in Article 2.08 SOURCE <br />3 <br />
