Welder Qualifications: Welding inspector shall verify that all the welders are properly <br />qualified prior to steel fabrication and state the qualifications of each welder in the <br />welding inspection report. <br />3. Welding Inspection: Continuous inspection required unless otherwise noted below. <br />Comply with requirements of AWS D1.1 <br />a. Welding Inspector shall check all welds, materials, equipment and procedures. <br />b. Welding Inspector shall provide reports certifying the welding is as required <br />and has been done in conformity with the plans, specifications and codes. <br />C. Welding Inspector shall use radiographic, ultrasonic, magnetic particle, or any <br />other necessary aid to visual inspection to assure adequacy of welds. <br />4. Periodic Inspection Acceptable: <br />a. Single pass fillet welds not exceeding 5116. <br />b. Welding of studs to beams. <br />3.06 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL <br />A. The independent Testing Agency will perform field quality control tests, as specified in <br />pertinent sections of Division 01. <br />B. Field Welding Inspection: Conform to all requirements of Article 2.08 SOURCE QUALITY <br />CONTROL. <br />3.07 ADJUSTING <br />A. Touch-up damaged finishes with compatible specified primer, or cold galvanized paint at <br />galvanized finish.. <br />B. Replace all defective work at Contractor's expense. <br />C. Replace defective or damaged work with conforming work. <br />D. Straighten materials by means that will not injure the materials. <br />E. Replace defective or damaged work which cannot be corrected in the field with new work, or <br />return defective items to the shop for repair. <br />F. Architect/Engineer shall review all proposals for the repair or replacement of damaged, <br />defective, or missing work. <br />G. Contractor to pay expenses incurred by Owner for Architect/Engineer's costs for (re -)design <br />and obtaining approvals of Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) necessitated by incomplete, <br />inefficiently scheduled, improperly performed, defective or nonconforming work, as specified <br />in pertinent sections of Division 01. <br />H. Contractor to pay expenses due to re -testing and re -inspection necessitated by incomplete, <br />inefficiently scheduled, improperly performed, defective or nonconforming work, as specified <br />14 <br />
