METAL DECK <br />Section 05300 <br />15-1207 <br />3.04 ADJUSTING AND CLEANING <br />A. Touch -Up Painting: After decking installation, wire brush, clean, and paint scarred areas, <br />welds and rust spots on top and bottom surfaces of decking units and supporting steel <br />members. <br />Touch-up galvanized surfaces with galvanizing repair paint applied in accordance with <br />manufacturer's instructions. <br />B. After erection, all surfaces shall be cleaned and left free of all grime and dirt. Decking shall <br />be cleaned with solvents, if necessary to provide a surface, which will readily bond with <br />concrete fill and direct -to -steel fireproofing. Remove unused materials, tools, scaffolding and <br />debris for the premises and leave the area broom clean. <br />3.05 PROTECTION <br />A. Protect work and materials of this Section prior to and during installation, and protect the <br />installed work and materials of other trades. <br />B. In the event of damage, make all repairs and replacements necessary to the approval of the <br />Architect at no additional cost to the Owner. <br />C. Exposed finishes shall be free from scratches, dents, permanent discolorations and other <br />defects in workmanship or material. <br />3.06 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL <br />A. Owner will employ testing laboratory (as per Section 01400 -Testing Laboratory Services) to <br />perform tests and to submit test reports on items stated below: <br />Testing laboratory will perform field inspection of metal deck for proper type, gage, <br />finish, welding quality and erection, including diaphragm connections for size, location <br />and spacing. <br />3.07 DEFECTIVE WORK <br />A. All work not in conformance with these specifications and/or generally accepted standards of <br />the trade, will be deemed defective by the Architect and will be rejected. All work that is <br />defective shall be corrected or replaced as directed by the Architect. Corrections redesign, <br />and replacement of defective work shall be at Contractor's expense. <br />END OF SECTION <br />E:? <br />
