WATER REPELLENTS & <br />ANTI -GRAFFITI COATINGS <br />Section 07180 <br />15-1207 <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br />1.01 INCLUSION OF OTHER CONTRACT DOCUMENTS <br />A. The General Conditions and Division 1 are fully applicable to this Section, as if repeated <br />herein. <br />1.02 RELATED WORK SPECIFIED ELSEWHERE <br />A. Section 01350, Environmental Requirements. <br />B. Section 03000, Site Concrete. <br />C. Section 03300, Cast -In -Place Concrete. <br />D. Section 04300, Concrete Masonry Unit. <br />E. Section 07900, Joint Sealants. <br />1.03 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A. Applicator shall certify that application procedures and quantities conform to the manufacturer's <br />requirements. <br />B. Application shall be performed by an experienced and approved applicator with at least three <br />(3) years experience using the specified or compatible product. Proof of experience may be <br />requested by Architect. <br />C. The contractor and the manufacturer shall make a preliminary test on the surfaces to be <br />treated to establish actual application rates necessary to meet warranty requirements. At no <br />time shall the rate of coverage be less than that rate as recommended in the manufacturer's <br />data sheets. <br />D. Mock-ups: Prior to application to the building, apply coating to a 16 sq. ft. area of the building, <br />as selected by the Architect, and allow to cure for 5 -days. Mock-up is intended to show the <br />affect of the coatings on appearance and also to prepare for the subsequent graffiti resistance <br />test. Conduct graffiti resistance test and clean-up test as recommended by manufacturer. Do <br />not apply coating to the remainder of the building until mock-up and graffiti resistance test is <br />approved by the Architect and manufacturer. <br />E. Completed and approved mock-up test areas shall serve as the standards by which all <br />subsequent work in the section will be evaluated. <br />1.04 SUBMITTALS <br />A. Refer to Section 01300. <br />B. The Contractor shall submit to the Architect for his approval, the manufacturer's data sheets for <br />installation requirements, application procedures and coverage rates. Also include supporting <br />lab test data confirming performance and characteristics of the material as stated in this <br />specification. ASTM E-514 results must be from an independent lab qualified to the test. The <br />
