WATER VAPOR REDUCTION SYSTEM <br />Section 07260 <br />15-1207 <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br />1.01 INCLUSION OF OTHER CONTRACT DOCUMENTS <br />A. The General Conditions, Supplementary Conditions and Division 1 are fully applicable to this <br />Section, as if repeated herein. <br />1.02 RELATED WORK SPECIFIED ELSEWHERE <br />A. Section 01350, Environmental Requirements. <br />B. Section 03300, Cast -In -Place Concrete <br />C. Section 09650, Resilient Flooring & Base <br />1.03 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A. Use only new materials and products, unless existing materials or products are specifically <br />shown otherwise on the Drawings to be salvaged and re -used. <br />B. Use materials and products of one manufacturer whenever possible. <br />C. All materials, workmanship and installation are to be observed by the Owner's Inspector of <br />Record. Work not so inspected is subject to uncovering and replacement. <br />D. Installer: <br />1. Installer shall be certified by the manufacturer and experienced in surface preparation <br />and application of the material and subject to inspection and control of the <br />manufacturer. <br />2. Installer shall have no less than five (5) years experience installing fluid based coating <br />systems. <br />E. Manufacturer Qualifications: <br />1. Manufacturer shall have no less than ten (10) years experience in manufacturing water <br />vapor reduction systems. The water vapor reduction system must be specifically <br />formulated and marketed for water vapor reduction and alkalinity control without <br />change of system design for a minimum period of five (5) years. <br />2. Warranty program covering installation workmanship and material performance for 10 <br />years at no additional cost to the Owner. <br />F. Testing: <br />1. Manufacturer must provide Independent lab test reports documenting performance per <br />the following: <br />a. ASTM E 96; Water Vapor Transmission (wet method) Performance shall be <br />documented by an independent testing laboratory at a minimum of 94% water <br />vapor transmission reduction compared to untreated concrete. <br />b. ASTM D 1308; Insensitivity to alkaline environment up to, and including, pH 14. <br />A 14 day test is required with no degradation of sample reported. <br />0 <br />
